Probate/Guardianship
For our clients who have lost a family member, friend, or associate, we provide probate administration services. The purpose of probate is to ensure that the decedent's final bills and expenses are paid, including any taxes owed, and any remaining assets are distributed to the beneficiaries named in a will, or if the decedent died "intestate" (without a will), to his or her heirs in accordance with Illinois' laws governing intestate succession. If a dispute should arise during the probate process, we have experience representing clients in probate litigation as well.
We also assist clients in obtaining guardianships of the person and the estate, which may be necessary for minors, elderly, disabled adult children, and others in need of someone to handle personal decisions, financial decisions, or both. In the event that you have obtained a judgment in another state, our office will file the appropriate documents to register your foreign judgment.
